The Best Cricut Storage + Organization Ideas

Drowning in rolls of vinyl? Can’t find your Cricut tools? You need to organize your Cricut supplies! I’ve rounded up the best Cricut storage and organization ideas so that you can find what you need the first time—and get back to crafting more quickly!

Do you spend as much time looking for your Cricut supplies and materials as you do actually crafting? It’s time to get organized!

I can be a super messy crafter, but I actually have found that having a more organized craft room has really helped me stay sane and craft more. Everything has its place and although I do make changes to my organizational systems a bit here and there, I’ve found a bunch of ideas that work really well for me.

So today I’m sharing some of my favorite Cricut storage ideas from my craft studio and the craft rooms of some of my favorite bloggers. You’ll find different ways to store vinyl and iron on, ideas to keep your mats clean, ways to keep your cardstock from ending up bent. Oh, and you’ll never lose your Cricut weeder again!

Some of these Cricut organization ideas are inexpensive, some may cost a bit more. Many are things you can buy, and some are DIY. Iron on and Vinyl Storage Ideas

Storing vinyl and iron on can be a pain! Here are a few ideas for keeping it all organized.

IKEA DRAWERS

I found that open rolls of vinyl and iron on were my biggest craft room nightmare. They were constantly unrolling and the scraps were out of control. So I moved to using flat storage in the form of IKEA Alex drawers. All of my opened vinyl and iron on goes in there (trimmed to fit if needed) and I recycle the cardboard roll. It’s so much easier for me to find what I’m looking for. Unopened rolls still live in a storage unit in the closet!

If my drawers are too bright, try Charynn’s more classic look! She also stores other party supplies in her drawers—it’s such a versatile storage piece.

This hack has been around for a long time, but I think it’s just genius! Kim shares how she uses IKEA trash bag holders as the perfect solution for storing her rolls of vinyl. She can find everything quickly and easily!

Cardstock and Scrapbook Paper Storage Ideas

My cardstock used to pile up in corners of my craft room, often ending with bent corners. Here are a few ways to store cardstock!

WIRE SCRAPBOOK PAPER RACK

When my cardstock started to overflow my Trones shoe holder (see that idea later in this post), I moved to a paper rack. You can get a similar rack at Amazon!

Scrapbook paper out of control? Use this IKEA Hack: Trones Shoe Holders are the perfect size and shape for holding all of your paper! Plus it takes up so little space in your craft room.

IKEA SHOE HOLDER = PAPER STORAGE

For years I’ve used an IKEA Trones shoe container for storing cardstock and other flat Cricut materials. There are three pull-out containers in the Trones and it all closes up neat and tidy when not in use!

CARDSTOCK STORAGE

If I ever get a larger craft room, I am going to do exactly what Lia has done here with her cardstock! I love the look and easy of access for these wooden organizers. The wire rack I have is great—these are even better!

My pegboard is absolutely my favorite way to store my Cricut tools (and a whole bunch of other stuff!) My version is from IKEA—all of the hooks and bins are designed to work with their system. I thought the whole thing was very reasonably priced and has made my whole craft room so much more usable.

CRICUT TOOL ORGANIZER

One of my biggest struggles was organizing my Cricut blades. Mine were a jumble in the storage cup of my Cricut. Then I found this AMAZING organizer from Uniquely Why Not—it stores all of my blades and tools perfectly, including space for the new Maker tool tips. I have more than one set of hand tools as well, so there’s a set in this holder and a set on my pegboard.

Cricut Mat Storage Ideas

WALL STORAGE

One of the most important things to note here is that Kim is killing it by keeping the plastic coverings on her mats! This keeps them so much cleaner than storing them without the covers. I need to take a page from her book—I’m terrible at recovering my mats when I’m done!

CRICUT MAT STORAGE

One of the best ways to keep your mats clean and lint-free is to hang them. I have them on a screw in the wall, but I like what Laura has done here, with a command hook on the side of her Cricut table. So handy!

How to Store Your Cricut Machine

Where do you keep your Cricut machine? Here are some ideas for keeping it accessible without taking up all of your table space.

STORAGE CART

When it comes to storing your actual Cricut machine, Angie has found the perfect craft cart! You can grab yours through the link on her blog—less than $50 on Amazon!

CAFETERIA CART

Angie’s cart above is easy to find on Amazon, but I will always love my vintage cafeteria cart. My mom actually found it at a local antique shop—it’s in great shape! It holds all three of my Cricut machines easily.

First of all, check out Heidi’s whole craft room—it’s to die for! Then take a look at how she turned an inexpensive shelf into a great organizing solution for her Cricut and other crafting machines! Nothing fancy here, but it totally works.

Cricut EasyPress Storage

I find the EasyPress machines particularly fussy to store, with their odd shape and cords everywhere. Check out these ideas for storing them!

CABINET STORAGE

I’ve always liked this IKEA storage cabinet, but now seeing that it fits the EasyPresses makes me want it even more! I like that it keeps the cords contained—that’s one of my biggest problems with storing them on my craft cart.

If you’re also struggling to contain the EasyPress, it’s base, and it’s cord, try the EasyPress tote! It makes it a lot easier to store your EasyPress under a desk or in a closet, since it can be stored on its side instead of flat.

First of all, go to this post because Pretty Providence has SO many amazing ideas for storing supplies in a small space. But I wanted to specifically point out these scrapbook boxes. I have a ton as well and they are perfect for storing cardstock and scrapbook paper, of course, but also fabric, blanks, ribbon, and more!

The gals at Pretty Providence have a fun solution for all the bits and bobs that take over a craft room—an old card catalog! This is perfect for material scraps, tools, jars of glitter, ephemera, and more. If I had the space in my craft room, this might be the first thing I would add.

Plastic bins are an inexpensive easy way to organize a lot of your smaller Cricut and crafting supplies. I like how Lindsay has organized hers using labels! Makes it super easy to find whatever you’re looking for.

This is so wonderful! Of course to do this I have to clean out the spare bedroom. It’s where everything goes that doesn’t have a home. Including all the stuff my son left when he moved out. Lol Someday…
