So far, looks like the NFL will kickoff as normal for the 2020–2021 football season! Or as normal as anything can be in this pandemic COVID-19 world.

NFL Commissioner Roger Goodell announced last Monday that the game will go on. With some adjustments and flexibility, it looks like we’ll still get to enjoy a modified football season this fall. Then again, I’m not holding my breath that things might change in the coming weeks!

I grew up going to 49er games every year with my dad (he held season tickets for years) so I learned to love football early on. There’s definitely a lot of nostalgia in the game for me—sitting six rows from the field at the corner of the end zone in Candlestick Park (yes, back when they played at Candlestick Park), cheering along with the cheerleaders, eating ham sandwiches out of a cooler and cheering on our team!

It looks like my beloved Niners might have a decent shot this year too! They were so close last year and I know it will be fun (and, if I’m honest, totally nerve-racking!) to watch them play together again.

We recently moved up to Washington state and while I already love the Pacific Northwest, my football loyalty will remain true to San Francisco. Though I’ll probably keep that under wraps a bit, because you Seahawks fans are…a mildly terrifying bunch.
