I love working with Cricut’s faux leather to make jewelry—it doesn’t weigh anything and it cuts beautifully. I suggest using Cricut’s Strong Grip mat when cutting faux leather so that it won’t shift while the machine cuts. Cricut’s faux suede is also a beautiful and lightweight choice!

Snowflake Leather Earrings Instructions
Ready to make one of the easiest projects ever? Cut out the downloaded file on your Cricut. I used silver faux pebbled leather and the purple strong grip mat and it worked really well. Using your poker, make a small hole at the top of the teardrop shape. It should be about 1/16″ from the top — pretty darn close to the edge!
Use your needle-nose pliers to work open the ring at the bottom of the fishhook earring. Slide the teardrop onto the earring using the hole you just poked, and clamp the ring back in place.
They are ready to wear! I spent less than ten minutes designing, cutting, and assembling these earrings. And since I did the design work for you, you just have to cut and make!
Super easy! Hope you’ve enjoyed this easy Christmas craft!

I have a Silhouette Cameo and am having trouble downloading and opening this file. When I go to merge the file to my Sil Studio, it will not open. I LOVE these and would enjoy wearing them to my upcoming holiday parties. Any suggestions?

I am trying to use this with my Silhouette Cameo 3. Is this possible? I saw in another comment that there should be a .dfx file but I did not get that. Is there a way that I can convert it myself?

HI! Thanks for sharing, these are super cute! I just cut mine out and it didn’t cut a hole at the top to put my earring hook through. Did I do something wrong? Thanks!

Do you put anything on the back of the faux leather when you are finished or do you leave it as is? Just curious since the back of my faux leather just white and fuzzy.

Hi Amber – I generally leave the back of the faux leather fuzzy unless I’m making a project that is be seen from both sides – then to fix that, I cut a mirror image of that same artwork I just cut and glue them together :)
Happy Crafting!

Cori-
I downloaded this file as well as your Spider Web file and saved to my computed. When I unzip and try to insert the SVG file into Design Space it (Design Space) shuts down. What am I doing wrong?
Thanks,

Hi there! I’m sorry to hear you’re having troubles…that can be frustrating! I would first make sure that you have the latest Design Space plugin installed. You can check this in your settings. If you continue to have problems, try inserting another file and if that works just fine, then it might be the specific SVG file you’re attempting. In that case, try downloading it again. Hope that helps! :)
