We all know 1 Corinthians: 13 as “the wedding chapter” in the Bible. And for good reason — it distills so much truth about love into just a few verses. Both love between two people and God’s love for us. It’s the perfect Bible reading at any wedding.

Love is patient, love is kind. It does not envy, it does not boast, it is not proud. It does not dishonor others, it is not self-seeking, it is not easily angered, it keeps no record of wrongs. Love does not delight in evil but rejoices with the truth. It always protects, always trusts, always hopes, always perseveres. Love never fails. 

But I’ve also started to think about these verses more broadly, especially when it comes to my kids. I may not be a perfect mom, but my love does not fail my kids. It’s a great reminder on days when it’s particularly difficult to be a mom of two toddlers!
