If you have a younger school-aged kid (particularly kindergarten), you may be staring “100 Days of School” day right in the face.
If you’re in your 30s or 40s, you might be wondering what the heck the “100 Days of School” celebration is. We certainly didn’t celebrate 100 days of school back in the, ahem, ’80s when I was a kid. So what’s the deal now?
What is 100 Days of School?
100 Days of School is yet another arbitrary holiday for schools and kids to celebrate during the school year. Obviously, this falls when your kids have been in school for 100 days.
Even though this can be a frustrating holiday for parents—who needs another thing to do for their kids’ school?—it’s actually somewhat educational. Generally kindergarten and first grade are the grades that celebrate 100 Days of School—and they’re the ones that are learning to count and create sequences.
Plus, it’s fun for them! For so long, 100 is the biggest number many kids can think of—and now they’ve been in school for that many days! So as a parent, grin and bear it. And find an easy way to celebrate, like making a shirt using your Cricut and one of my 100 Days of School SVG files below!
When is 100 Days of School?
It really depends on the school, and even the individual classroom! Inservice days, teacher days, snow days—these can all change when 100 Days of School is celebrated at your child’s school.
That being said, it generally falls around Valentine’s Day (again, because you don’t have enough to do for your young child’s class!).

I am having a heck of a time trying to download the file for 100 days of school. Actually for the past couple of free downloads, I haven’t been able to download because when you hover over the Click Here circle, nothing happens. I missed several that I absolutely adore and they are gone in a day. Is there anyother way to get your SVG files? Thanks much.
