Not sure what to buy for that Glowforge fan on your list? Not to worry! I’ve created the ultimate Glowforge Holiday Gift Guide so you can choose the perfect crafty gift this season!
The holidays are getting closer and gift giving is in full swing! If you’re looking for something for that crafty person on your list, today I’m sharing the Ultimate Glowforge Holiday Gift Giving Guide!
Whether you’re looking to buy a new Glowforge machine for that special someone or want ideas for a current Glowforge owner, I’ve got you covered. This gift guide will help you buy a Glowforge or Glowforge accessories, tools, and materials for all sorts of creative people in your life.
Buying a Glowforge as a Gift
Buying a Glowforge for another person is an AMAZING gift for Christmas, Hanukkah, or other holiday! But because of the higher cost and amount of room a Glowforge takes up, this is probably one of those gifts you want to discuss with the recipient beforehand.
That being said, if you want to buy a Glowforge as a gift, you can use my Glowforge referral code to save up to $500! You can read all about this awesome laser cutter in my Glowforge Overview: What to Know Before You Buy
You’ll want to order early—with the worldwide shipping delays, your actual machine may be scheduled to arrive after the holidays. You can always include a photo of a new Glowforge in a card with a note mentioning it’s on its way!
Glowforge Gift Cards
Unfortunately, at this time Glowforge doesn’t offer gift cards. This is such a bummer because I think this is probably the best way to get your Glowforge fan exactly what they want for the holidays!
Other Holiday Gifts for Glowforge Owners
Here are some other items I’ve found super helpful when using my Glowforge. Many of them aren’t the most glamorous gifts, but I’d be pretty darn excited to get pretty much anything on this list!
Plastic Razor Blade
This little tool is super helpful for scraping the masking off Glowforge projects. It’s sharp enough to scrape cleanly but won’t damage the project OR cut your fingers. These would make a fun stocking stuffer, too!
Tool Work Bench with Storage
I’m obsessed with my Husky workbench. It’s really sturdy and holds a ton of materials and supplies. It can be kind of harder to find it in white like mine, but the slick black version is easily available on Amazon.
Glowforge Cover
Glowforge machines require a lot of cleaning and maintenance—make it a little easier on your recipient with this Glowforge dust cover. You could also grab them a handmade Glowforge dust cover on Etsy!
Small Video Camera
While nothing will ever substitute being right next to your Glowforge while cutting (never leave the room!), I find a little camera on my Glowforge is perfect for keeping an eye on it while doing other things. I have the camera set up while it’s cutting and can watch it on my phone screen while I work on my computer nearby. It’s an easy way to have an eye on that laser at all times.
Hand-Held Vacuum Cleaner
Okay, okay, I KNOW a vacuum is the last thing a person probably wants to get as a gift, but I use my little handheld vacuum all the time with my Glowforge! It’s perfect for vacuuming up tiny pieces from under the crumb tray or little bits of scraped-off masking.
Clamps
Glowforge projects often require a lot of gluing. Having a bunch of spring clamps on hand makes it easy to set things aside with the glue dries! You can also try ratchet clamps, which make it easier to adjust the amount of pressure.
Digital Calipers
Glowforge materials can vary in thickness, particularly non-Proofgrade materials (though those can vary a bit as well). Digital calipers make it easy to take thickness measurements to ensure projects assemble nicely.
Gift Cards for Supplies
There are so many places to buy gift cards for supplies. A couple of my favorites include:
- Cerulean Tides — amazing sheets of acrylic that cut like butter
- Smokey Hill Designs — check out their PatternPly, plus their shipping and customer service is top notch
Are you a Glowforge owner? What else do you think should be in this Glowforge gift guide? I’d love to know what you’d be happy to find under the Christmas tree this year!
