Cricut Christmas Crafting Challenge Supply List

Images of Christmas crafts such as a card, a wreath, ornament, oven mitt and wooden framed sign that says Merry & Bright

This Christmas Challenge is not currently running.

Welcome to the supply list for the 2019 Cricut Christmas Crafting Challenge!

The following links are primarily affiliate links to Amazon, because you can order quickly from there. I earn a small commission if you buy through these links, at no additional cost to you. You do not need to buy through these links—if you’d rather hit your local craft store (or your own craft stash!), go ahead!

For all the projects you will need a Cricut Explore or Cricut Maker with the fine point blade, with the exception that you can use the Maker’s rotary blade to cut your felt wreath pieces if you’d like (the fine point will do it too).

You may use another cutting machine, but the software instructions are for Cricut Design Space so you will have to translate that to your own software.

You will also need to have Cricut Design Space installed on your computer or device. I will be using my desktop computer for the screenshots in the tutorials, but you can use whatever device you have to make these projects. If you have a question on how to do something in particular with your mobile or other device, feel free to email me at hello@heyletmakestuff.com!

Day 1 – Christmas Card

A close up of a card that has a design of Christmas lights on it and the text Merry & Bright
  • Blue LightGrip mat or green StandardGrip mat
  • Cardstock:
    • 12″ x 12″ white cardstock
    • 12″ x 12″ black cardstock
    • 2″ x 2″ colored cardstock scraps in 5 colors
  • Single Scoring Wheel (Cricut Maker) or Scoring Stylus (Cricut Explore) — you can also fold by hand if you do not have a scoring tool
  • Spatula tool (optional but helpful)
  • Glue stick
  • Foam squares (optional)

Day 2 – Vinyl on an Ornament

Close up of an aqua colored Christmas ornament that has a design that says \"Love\" on it and sitting on top of a paper snowflake
  • Green StandardGrip or Purple StrongGrip mat
  • Glitter adhesive vinyl
  • Weeding tool
  • Strong transfer tape
  • Scissors
  • Flat globe ornament
  • Roll of masking tape (optional)

Day 3 – Iron On Vinyl Oven Mitt

An aqua colored baking mitt with utensils and a jar of baking sprinkles sticking out of the top of the mitt. The mitt is surrounded by paper cut out snowflakes and the mitt has the saying Baking Spirits Bright and a rolling pin design on it.
  • Blue LightGrip mat or green StandardGrip mat
  • White iron-on vinyl (Siser is my favorite brand)
  • Weeding tool
  • Oven mitt—Look at local stores for these. Amazon’s tend to be heavy-duty silicone, when you really need a traditional quilted oven mitt. You can also use this same technique on a pot holder!
  • Heat source—I prefer the EasyPress mini, a mini iron, or a household iron for this project. A heat press and the regular EasyPress have a hard time getting into the quilting.
  • Gifts for filling (spoons, whisks, sprinkles, etc.)

Day 4 – Felt Wreath

A Christmas wreath made out of green felt with a red felt bow and little red felt balls
  • Large 12″ x 24″ Green StandardGrip or Purple StrongGrip mat
  • 1 yard green felt off the bolt—I recommend visiting your local craft store. My absolute favorite source for felt is Benzie Design—their felt is gorgeous and is worth the wait if you want to order from them.
  • 8″ x 5″ red felt for bow
  • Brayer (optional but helpful)
  • Foam wreath form
  • Hot glue gun and hot glue (you can also use pins if you prefer)
  • Baubles for decorating your wreath (felt balls, bells, etc.)

Day 5 – Stenciled Sign

A wooden framed sign that says, \"Merry & Bright\"
  • Green StandardGrip or Purple StrongGrip mat
  • Wood craft frame
  • Stencil Blank
  • Roll of masking tape
  • Craft paint in a variety of colors including white
  • Sponge brushes
  • Stiff small paint brush (I really like my smallest Mod Podge brush)

If you have any questions about any of the supplies on this list, please reach out! I can’t wait to start crafting with you!
