Hey hey! We are so happy you are here to make stuff!
I’m so glad you’ve found your way here to my corner of the internet. I’m Cori George and I’ve been a creative crafter my whole life. I’ve been running Hey, Let’s Make Stuff full time for more than 11 years. I’m a publishing and marketing professional by trade, but teaching crafters how to make their life more fun using crafting machines is my real passion!
There’s nothing I love more than helping crafters get over the fear of using their crafting machines, including Cricut machines, sublimation and direct-to-film printers, laser machines, heat presses, and more. Crafting tech can be intimidating, and it’s my goal to help you get that machine out of the box so you can actually start crafting something you love!
You’ll get tutorials from someone who has all of these machines and has actually used them. My tutorials include the good, the bad, and the ugly and often feature troubleshooting tips and tricks so you can skip over making a bunch of mistakes while learning. My tutorials are designed for beginners but crafters of all abilities will learn something new!
My Background
I grew up in a creative family. My mom taught me how to sew at an early age (she now has her own Etsy shop!) and my dad was an award-winning photographer. I loved all of the crafts from the 80s and 90s, from puff paint to friendship bracelets. I never lost my crafty side, scrapbooking and sewing well into adulthood.
Then in 2014, Cricut sent me their first Cricut Explore machine and it opened up a huge world of crafting with technology and I was hooked.
My Blog Story
I actually started my first blog in 2004 as a way to keep up with my family when I went to graduate school across the country. Then it was a book review blog for a while and then I started posting some of the crafts and sewing projects I was making in 2010. Once I got that Cricut, I niched down to crafting tech and the rest is history! I quit my job in 2013 to do this full time and I’ve never looked back.
Published Books
I’ve been so lucky to have several craft books published! When I went to graduate school to study publishing, I always thought I’d be on the editing side, not the writing side! So it’s very fun to see my books in print. I am currently represented by Better Day Books and you can follow my Amazon Author Profile and my Goodreads Author Profile if you’d like!
