Love the Aura BUT…
I love my glowforge! I do wish I read a little more into the the Aura. The laser for the Aura is not capable of cutting/engraving clear, white, lighter blue, or glitter acrylics. Which is a huge bummer because that’s what I was most excited about being able to craft with acrylics. Take that into consideration before purchasing because this is essentially not returnable.

Overall Disappointed
My first issue is that they do not inform you in the item description that there are software requirements to use the glowforge aura. You have to use Firefox, which is a terrible browser to start with. My computer does not support Firefox and it barely runs on my phone. You do not get informed of this until you've opened the package and scan the QR code for setup directions. Once opened you cannot return it. So after purchasing I have a machine I can't use because of software issues you only discover after you open it.
Second, there is no guidebook or manual, it's only available through the QR code in the box. If I'm paying $1,200 for a machine I had better get a manual. So to setup I had to use my phone because of incompatible software on my computer, but had to keep restarting the setup because the guide could only be viewed on my phone. Every time I switched windows I had to restart the setup.
The third issue I have is that they do not inform you, until you scan that QR code in the box, which is non returnable once you open the box, that you have to pay a monthly subscription fee to get full access to everything that is advertised. This was infuriating as this is something you should inform a customer of before purchase.
My fourth issue is that even though I could operate it from my phone, it is not user friendly or in any way easy to navigate, design, or utilize in any capacity. They say you can use from your phone(with Firefox) but it isn't practical. And because I don't have compatible software for Firefox on my computer, I cannot design on a computer.
Lastly, and this issue is on me, it is a lot more cumbersome, between the laser and air filtration system, to keep set up. If you don't have a single room with a large table to devote to keep it permanently, it definitely isn't a good idea.
I also find the construction and material used to be a very low grade. It's mostly plastic/acrylic. It is cheaply made considering the cost.
Overall extremely disappointed and would not recommend anything glowforge. I'm also disappointed JoAnns/Glowforge didn't make sure these essential details were in the product description. Now I'm stuck with a costly machine and air filtration system I can't use.

Love, Love, Love my Glowforge!
LOVE it!!! I purchased the Glowforge Aura during Black Friday. I made 15 intricut shadow layered Christmas ornaments for family members. I was able to personalize each ornament to make them extra special. Working on a Santa's village centerpiece now. This has opened up a whole new avenue of crafting.

Buyer beware, this is a diode laser.
Long story short: this is a diode laser and has limited capacity in cutting certain colors (especially of acrylic, which is what I purchased it for). This is NOT noted on their website. Anywhere.
I purchased this machine over the summer, excited that there was a small, entry-level laser cutter now on the market. I purchased this machine, the air filter, and a whole collection of acrylic, as I run a small earring business and purchased this for that sole purpose.
Upon getting the laser, setting it up, and going to make my first earrings - it doesn't cut white, clear, and blue acrylics... what? I did EXTENSIVE reading on their site, the machine had only been out for about a month and did everything in my power to read all the information that was available, both on their website and on social media. In being baffled by this, I contacted Glowforge and was told that this is because it was a DIODE laser, which has a very specific color spectrum.
After a week or so of "politely" arguing with their customer service, they eventually let me return the machine and filter (they did not want to, and even made me pay $100 for shipping even though I live near their warehouse). My main call-out was their materials list showed a white/clear color for "acrylic" and this, in fact, was false advertising along with not ever noting the fact that this is a diode laser. You'll notice now that the material list now shows orange acrylic.
Additional thing to note: their proofgrade materials come in the colors that this machine cannot cut and there is not any indication that they are meant for their CO2 machines (at least there wasn't the last time I checked).
Just be aware of the limitations this machine has. It could be a great entry-level laser cutter for some, but it's unethical that they do not acknowledge on their site that this machine has limitations and that it is a diode laser (just checked again, still not on the specs). So PLEASE be aware that you cannot cut a full spectrum of acrylic colors - acrylic earrings are super popular right now, so hoping this saves someone the hassle I encountered, as they probably will not let you return the machine.

Broken 😡 in the first 30 days
I bought this a month ago and was so excited to use it! After waiting for 2 hours my first earrings were made. It was cool for about 28 days and stopped working. Customer service is terrible and they want me to pay 75% of the total cost AGAIN to have it replaced. Terrible customer service and this is the 2nd product I have purchased from Glowforge to be total crap.

Love this machine!
I was in the market to be able to cut acrylic to do social media signs. I researched it on Tik Tok watched videos and decided on purchasing the AURA. It has definitely given me a crafting bug, I use it everyday. I can't wait to do more with this machine!
