I’m in one of those places where I’m feeling incredibly inspired, and I LOVE it. I had a twelve-hour day in my studio the other day with my friend Noelle, but I could have stayed sewing late into the night. I’m just having such a good time lately and I just can’t get enough creating. I think my Digital Detox is helping — I’m spending a lot less time on my computer and phone, which means I have the mental and physical space to be more creative. Couldn’t recommend a digital detox more highly!
So how far have I come since last week’s WIP Wednesday? My Easter project is finished, and today I’m photographing it for a post next week. I also knitted some more of my seed stitch cowl, though I still have a ways to go. It’s the perfect project for times when I’m just waiting around somewhere!
Last week I also had four blocks laid out with all the flying geese and HSTs pieced — this week I have nine of the twelve.
I also made some pennants for a couple clients, and added custom pennants to my shop! This week I made another set for little Natalie.
I’m also starting the Sewing With Knits class on Craftsy. The first project is a fleece hoodie — this week I purchased and pre-washed a dark gray knit fabric, cut out the pattern and notions, and started watching the lessons.
The class is for sewing knits on a regular sewing machine (awesomesauce), but I just bought a new serger, so I think I might use it to tackle some of these projects! Seems like a good way to get my feet wet with my serger. Which I find slightly terrifying, mostly because it chomps the fabric as you sew. What madness.
And finally, I’m working on a Washi tunic. All I have left are the sleeves and hem, so expect a post on this last week! I don’t even have words for how happy I am with it.
What are you working on this week? I’d love to hear about your projects — leave a link in the comments so I can check them out!
