As a maker, I’ve always been a fan of independent art. I’m constantly encouraging my friends to buy from small artists instead of choosing mass-marketed art that you see hanging in practically every home. Choose something original and support an independent artist. You can be a part of allowing someone to do what they love to do — there’s not much better than that!
I’ve also been a fan of Minted for a few years, always using them for my Christmas cards because their selection and quality is gorgeous (check out their new holiday cards — so many beautiful choices). I got so many compliments on our Happy Everything cards last year.
But I only recently learned that Minted carries limited edition prints! I decided to hang two of them in our living room, on either side of our window. Each print has a limited run and a certificate of authenticity. You can also learn more about the artists through their artist pages — I love being able to put a face with the artwork. So personal.
For our home, I chose two geometric prints that help tie all of the greens, blues, and yellows together in the room.
The first is Applied Relativity 1 by Jen Wink. I love the whimsical nature of this one. And it goes with the color in our curtains perfectly, without being super matchy-matchy.
I also love that it picks up the gray in the wall color. It’s pretty much perfect.
For the other side of the window, I chose Hexagon with Dots in Blue by Yao Cheng. This part of the room is still needs some work, but my antique chair and handmade pillows go with the print so nicely.
I love how the two prints are from different artists but still go nicely together.
Minted also offers a ton of framing options. I went with the Reclaimed Barn Wood frames for both. I absolutely love them! They add another layer of visual interest to the pieces — they are almost works of art in themselves.
Getting these prints was the perfect opportunity to get our curtains up — this room is finally starting to feel like we live here!

While I didn’t choose one of these for my home (not that I won’t in the future), I am also in love with all of these organic, inspired-by-nature prints. Which one’s your favorite?
