If you follow along with my occasional Work In Progress (WIP) Wednesday posts, you’ll know that I’ve been working on my Swoon quilt top for the better part of this year. I started it after my recovery from my first foot surgery, and I finished the top just before my second surgery — I’m just having a chance to blog about it now.
Because I decided to do this in a scrappy style, there were many more fabrics than in a traditional Swoon. I think there were 36 fabrics total — yellow, brown, gray, and text. The math hurt my brain, but I figured it out.
I slowly worked on it over the past few months, here and there. I tried to finish a block every few days. Spreading it out made it less overwhelming than trying to get it all done in one chunk.
I rarely make full-size quilts, so I had to tackle this one like I was making twelve pillows instead of one enormous quilt.
I still need to make a back for it, and then I’m sending it off to be quilted — no way I’m going to attempt to quilt this enormous beast on my little Brother machine.
Until then, I just want to share the pretty. I’m in love with how it turned out.
I’m really glad I’m keeping this one for me!
