Hello my lovelies! It’s been a much better week — nothing major has broken or gone wrong and I’m feeling a ton better. *crosses fingers* This week is almost over for me already — this afternoon I’m headed out for a little “vacation” to Eureka, CA for the long holiday weekend with Ryan. My best friend’s husband is a pyrotechnician and is setting off the fireworks in Eureka for the Fourth. Ryan’s helping out, and I get to hang out with my bestie for four days. Yay!
Looking forward to getting away from this heinous Sacramento Valley heat and enjoying the ocean breeze.
Works in Progress
This week I’m making more progress on a lot of the same projects! I finished the back of my unicorn fractal rainbow explosion quilt for the Schnitzel & Boo Mini Quilt Swap also got it quilted. I ended up using a medium gray and echo quilting all the diagonal lines.
I’ll bind it in the car on the way to Eureka this afternoon, and get it in the mail next Monday! Right at the deadline!
Oh! And I made a label. I like how it turned out. Hiding my partner’s name until he/she receives it!
Once my partner receives it, I’ll write all about it. I’m considering offering it as a pattern — let me know if this is something you’d be interested in so I can gauge interest!
I started working on my first Bess Top by Imagine Gnats. I actually ended up going with a different voile than the one in the photo, but from the same Palos Verdes line.
I also started (and finished but didn’t take photos yet) a set of gender-neutral pennants. I really love this particular pull. This was for a woman who bought the set in an Instagram auction Albion Gould hosted to raise money to help get a diabetes dog for her friend’s son. I was happy to help with such a great cause!
And of course, the Swoon beast is still calling. I have half the blocks fully pieced! I may actually finish this thing at some point!
Oh! And I started the big task of cleaning out my studio. Next week, Pink When is hosting a craft room clean-up! My fabric was a disaster, and now it’s all wonderfully organized. I want to hug it. But I don’t want to mess it up, so I won’t.
A bunch of bloggers are cleaning out their sewing and craft spaces and doing a giveaway of some of our supplies we just don’t need anymore. My giveaway already includes a selection of fabric, tulle, buttons, and tiny glitter clothespins. Stop by next Thursday to win!
I made another patchwork pillow for a client — this time in blues and browns. (Pardon the harsh bright light. Have I mentioned how HOT and MELTY it is here in Sacramento? Seriously. 112 the other day. I can’t even.)
I made it to match my Robin’s Egg pillow, which she purchased as well.
