I’m moving into high gear preparing for SNAP! in a week and a half! Holy cow, I can’t believe it’s almost here. There’s a lot to do to prepare for it, but mostly I’m just excited to meet with a whole bunch of people who love the same things I love — being creative and creating a community!
This week I’m working on a few things for SNAP! I’m participating in the Secret Sisters project, which pairs up the attendees and each day of the conference you get a little gift until your secret sister is revealed on the final day! I cannot wait to meet my partner — I’m sort of obsessed with her blog right now and can’t share who she is or what I’m making or she’ll know it’s me! So instead, I’ll share all three of my little gifts after I get home.
I’m also working on two clothing projects for SNAP! One is altering my incredibly fantastic taffeta and lace 80s prom dress for the 80s Prom Night. It fits pretty well, but it needed new buttons — sewed those on this week. I also got a lace head scarf, fishnet gloves, and some jelly bracelets. It’s awesomely terrifying.
The other project is to create a pair of 80s pajama pants for the pajama party that’s happening on one of the other nights of SNAP! I ordered some fabulous Beatbox fabric from a shop on Etsy, and I’m going to use Noodlehead’s pajama pants pattern to make them. Add a slouchy sweatshirt with a cutoff shoulder, a side pony, and I’m so ready for an 80s PJ party!
And how are my projects from last week going? I finished up my Washi tunic and blogged it yesterday.
I am still slowly trucking along making progress on my Swoon Quilt. I’m now at 9 blocks that are ready to be put together — just three to go. They’ve been languishing in pretty little piles for a few days, but I’ll get back to them soon.
I haven’t made much progress on my knit sweatshirt other than getting it cut out and watching a bit more of the class videos. This may have to be put on hold for a bit while I prepare for SNAP! We’ll see. It doesn’t help that it’s in the 80s around here!
I’m also making more pennants! It seems to be what I do around here. I’ve got sets for Alden and Natalie in the mail, and Hudson, Caitlyn, and my yet-to-be-named future nephew are in the works! Want to order a set of your own? Visit my Etsy shop!
What are you working on this week for WIP Wednesday? I’d love to hear about your projects — leave a link in the comments so I can check them out!
