Have you heard of Uncommon Goods? They are one of my go-to places for interesting and unusual gifts for the holidays and cool stuff for your home. So needless to say, I was excited when they contacted me about doing a gift guide and a giveaway!
To start with, Uncommon Goods let me pick out something from their shop. It was really difficult to choose something out of their great selection, but I landed on these grammar plates:
Many of you may have guessed from my blog name that I’m a bit of a grammar nut. I think these plates are not just fun and cute, but educational. Perhaps I should invite over my less-than-grammatically-correct friends and use these plates as an impromptu teaching lesson. *evil laugh*
Uncommon Goods Gift Guide
I can’t tell you how many times I’ve found the perfect gift for the hard-to-shop-for person in their shop. For instance, last year I got my travel-loving brother and sister-in-law this amazing Scratch Map. They can literally scratch off where they have been, like it’s an enormous Lotto ticket. I think it’s one of the coolest gifts I’ve ever given. Want to get one for yourself or as a gift? Click here. Another great gift for him would have been the guitar pick punch!
The other items I’ve picked out follow some of the rules I’m working within while I decorate my new house. I’m adding plants, bling, and texture — the next three gifts touch on each!
I’m all over little plants to bring life to a room. This cupcake planter is so cute, and would be perfect in a dining room or kitchen, or even a little girl’s sweet bedroom. You could also bring life to a kid’s room with Uncommon Goods’ aquatic farm.
I’m completely in love with these upcycled beer bottle tumblers. About one-third of Uncommon Good’s items are made from upcylcled or recycled materials — how cool is that? I’d totally plant little succulents in these bottles and put them on the shelf to shine. Someone want to get these for me for Christmas? Pretty please?
And finally something to add some texture. My house was so flat before I started seeking out things with texture, like this adorable fox pillow. Despite being totally crafty, I can’t knit or crochet worth a darn, so I have to look elsewhere for fun knitted items like this pillow. I want to hug it. All the time. You could also get a little texture from this awesome kinetic sand.
Okay! Those are my top picks, but I definitely recommend spending some time wandering around their site. So many cool stocking stuffers and gift ideas. You can also vote for items that you want to see for sale at the Uncommon Goods. You get to choose what makes it and what doesn’t. How cool is that?
And now a giveaway! Uncommon Goods has given me a $50 gift certificate to give away to one lucky winner! Just use the Rafflecopter widget below to win. The giveaway will end on Friday. Good luck!
