I’d like to welcome you to the Trim Trade! The lovely Heather over at The Sewing Loft and I are co-hosting this new swap, where participants will trade all sorts of decorative sewing trims. We’re talking lace, sequins, buttons, ric-rac, cording, ribbon, beads, piping, fringe, bias tape, braids — and whatever else makes our sewing extra special!
The swap is simple:
- Go to the Google form and fill in your information.
- We’ll email you the name and address of your swap partner.
- Choose enough trim to fill a sandwich-size plastic bag.
- Post photos of your trim to the Flickr page.
- Comment on what you love…and what you don’t (be kind!)
- Ship out your swag by May 8!
Easy, right? A mystery trim giveaway will land in one participants mailbox, so be sure to sign up!
I’d also like to take this opportunity to introduce you to Heather. We’ve been blogging and Twittering together for a while now, and I got to meet her for exactly 18 awesome seconds at the Sewing Summit in October. She also participated in Giving Handmade, which I hosted last year.
She has a fantastic blog that is constantly featuring really helpful tutorials, round-ups, giveaways, and other sewing goodness. And her patterns are super cute, too! She’s truly an inspiration to me in the blogging world and I’m always glad of her friendship and advice. You’ll definitely want to follow her in all the places:
Check back here and at the Sewing Loft during the next month to learn more about swap etiquette and fun ways trim can make your sewing projects stand out. We’re looking forward to it — hope you are too!
